Pflugerville Lures Two New Companies with Incentives

Austin’s neighbor to the north has attracted two large companies with financial incentives, the Austin Business Journal reports.

MW Builders Inc., a general contractor based in Kansas, will build a regional headquarters at the 130 Commerce Center mixed-use business park at State Highway 130 and Pecan Street in Pflugerville.  In exchange for building a 20,000 square foot facility that costs at least $4.8 million, hiring or relocating 30 full-time employees who make an average of $86,000 annually and have health benefits, and moving their regional headquarters to the facility by July 31, 2018, MW Builders will get up to $75,000.

MW Builders has built the FedEx Ground Building and the Cortec Precision Sheetmetal facility in Pflugerville and it has other offices in Texas in Temple and Midland.

Accent Food Services, currently located out of the Pflugerville city limits, will be moving to an industrial and residential area inside Pflugerville south of State Highway 45.  If Accent brings in or relocates 85 full-time employees with an average salary of $55,000, hires at least five additional workers within 4 years, and builds the 55,000 square-foot location by July 1, 2018, they will get up to $150,000 from the city of Pflugerville.  That money will be paid $30,000 once a year for the first five years the facility is open.  The company, which provides offices with food and beverages, expects the new building to cost $4 million
