Apartment construction is booming in Austin! There are a total of 18,893 new apartment units being built right now. Let’s take a look at what’s coming down the pipe in Northwest and North Central Austin.
In Northwest Austin several communities are in the process of being built. Near McNeil and 183, a 179 unit community called Urban North will have one and two bedroom apartments ranging from 581 to 1098 square feet and featuring full-size washer and dryers, hardwood floors, and granite counters. The community will have a dog park, a fitness center, a parking garage and a resort style pool. There will be no breed or size restriction on pets, either! Rent is projected to range from $1,095 to $1,595 and the community will be convenient to restaurants and shopping.
IMT at Riata will have another 307 units south of McNeil to the east of 183. They are expected to be completed this fall and will feature 36 one and two bedroom townhomes and 271 one and two bedroom apartment homes. Near 183 and 45, The Michael, a new 415 unit community with apartments ranging from a 599 square foot studio to a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath with 1,896 square feet, is under construction. Situated on 14 acres and dotted with live oaks, this community will have a full-service lounge, full pool and sun deck, and a community amenity center with a gourmet kitchen. Apartments feature vaulted ceilings, gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and solid wood custom cabinets, a private patio, and more. In North Central Austin, apartment construction is booming as well. On Burnet Road, close to all the restaurants and bars like Barley Swine, Amy’s Ice Cream and The Yard Bar, Burnet Market Place, a 343 unit community, is sprouting. Amenities include an outdoor lounge with bar and televisions, a courtyard with hammocks and grilling stations, ground-floor restaurants and retail, and rain gardens and cisterns that filtrate and reuse rain water. Units range from a 420 square foot studio to a 1,080 square foot two bedroom, two bathroom.
The Domain is seeing more apartments being built, including The Standard at the Domain, which will have 563 units ranging from a 604 square foot one bedroom to a 1,427 square foot two bedroom. Apartments feature wood style floors, USB outlets, keyless entry, and quartz counters. The community has easy access to the shopping and restaurants of the Domain, plus a parking garage, dog washing station, two pools, a communal kitchen, and a rooftop terrace.
