The beloved Dog and Duck pub, which closed its longtime location on Guadalupe near UT last fall, will reopen in East Austin, Community Impact reports.
The old location was a longtime favorite of Austinites. The owner, Jeff McKillop, said that finding affordable property for a restaurant or bar near downtown was almost impossible. The old Dog and Duck will be turned into apartments.
The new location is at 2400 Webberville Road, Ste. A, near 7th Street, and it will have both indoor and outdoor seating. There will also be 40 beers on tap and a revamped menu full of traditional British food.
The new Dog and Duck will look very familiar, however. Crews were able to salvage almost every piece of the old building, including the floor, ceiling, fireplace, bar, tables and chairs. They will also be bringing back most of staff from the old location. The new Dog and Duck is set to reopen by late next month. We can all raise a glass to that!
